Artists 4 Israel

Phyllis Chesler, a woman I both respect and often find disagreement with –while still respecting–  has written over at PJMedia today about something Quite Impressive— a gathering of artists that support the State of Israel called, natch, Artists4Israel.

It’s been a little over ten years since Katia-sensei kicked my butt for uttering the standard college claptrap about Israel and Palestine. She called me on the carpet and quickly and thoroughly learned me some proper history and perspective, and verbally smacked some sense into me regarding the Middle East and its inhabitants. It still smarts, just thinking about it. But she got my attention, because sensei was generally a kind, gentle soul. Until she kicked my bottom.

After her beat-down of my college education, I continued to learn more on my own, becoming ever more a dedicated fan of this little, David-Like state . . . at the time, I was also studying Music Ed, and trying to keep my other artistic impulses satisfied through bookbinding.

To see that there is a group of artists working against the tide of hatred is a heartening thing indeed. Adding them to the side bar!

Moderation has been eased. For now. Don't be dunderheads.
