Solar- Seismic Update 14 Feb 2012 *UPDATED*

A fair amount of activity. I had expected some, but not this much– I’ve noticed that I tend to underestimate, I think as a reaction to the habit of some people to overestimate.

Yesterday– 6.1 EQ in Costa Rica

UPDATE: Thanks to Freedom1781 for pointing out the 5.6 in Northern CA yesterday!

      • Not speaking for Freedom, but when we were in NoCal, anything above 4.0 was generally noticed, but after major quakes (like the Loma Prieta – Whoa!) the hundreds of 4 and 5 level shocks tend to go unnoticed, unless (like me sometimes) you happen to be on a ladder or an upper floor of a flimsy building, then it’s a passing notice. If I remember right, a 5.6 might wake you up and raise some dust.
